This was early morning. Waves were perfect glass. Here was a daddy watching his kids. I'm not sure if he and his wife were on surf shifts or not, but whatever the case was, the waves were going off and it was HIS shift! As I was looking through my view finder, all I thought was, "This is it. This is life. This is the moment of being a parent. Yes, it is hard work. Yes, our surf sessions are fewer now, Yes, I can't believe I have to watch the kids. But really, this is the moment. It is the perfect point break. It is the ride of our life.
