Our littlest grommie, Seth, just won the 12 and under division of the Rip Curl National Title in Puerto Rico! Billabong sent both Tony and Seth to PR to compete in the contest that he qualified for here in Hawaii. He got to surf 2 divisions, 12 and under and 14 and under because he won both divisions at home! Seth got 1st and killed it in the 12 and under division and made it to the finals in the 14 and under division! He did so well! IT was so awesome because I had friends texting me from California, Texas and Hawaii telling me that they were watching his heat and cheering him on! The Mizuno family actually stayed home from school in the morning to watch Seth's heat! Thank you everyone for your support and love and thank you Rip Curl and BIllabong for this great opportunity!
Oh, the exciting thing about this event wasn't that they got to go all the way to Puerto Rico, but they surfed in front of the same crowd as the Professional Surfers did! This event crowned the Women's World Champion, Stephanie Gilmore! And the big boys like Kelly Slater is surfing in this event too! SUPER!
Good job Sethie! And congratulations to our sweet Carissa Moore for getting SECOND!!!! She surfed and put on a show! I think Stephanie was very scared of her!
