Stand-up Paddle Board Anyone?

Stand-up Paddle is getting real big here in Hawaii. This picture was taken in our canal in the back of our house. It lead right to the ocean. This was supposed to be our Christmas picture for last year! Check out their paddles! At that time, we didn't have paddles. You can find a stand-up surfer at almost every break now. It is real fun to do, but it is not fun to surf with them. they can see and catch waves before you can...so they go in circles around you! Well, when longboarding got popular, that is what the shortboarders used to say about longboarders, so Tony (my husband) says, "It's payback!"

You can find standups at Tropical Blends, where you will get a good service with a lot of pure aloha. Just ask for Jim. Uncle Ben Aipa also makes stand ups and of course you can find Surf Tech stand-ups in local stores.

We have Stand-up Paddle Surfing lessons at our school too. If you are interested, call me. Tony is a great instructor and not only got his last student paddling, but also catching waves! That isn't easy for your first time. It is something most anyone can do and it is very nice seeing the ocean in that position.
